ESC is government financial assistance that provides grants for deserving elementary graduates to pursue secondary education in a private high school of their choice.
Objectives:
• Improve and expand access to quality JHS education
• Aid in the decongestion of public JHSs
Amount of ESC Grant for Grade 7 - 10
National Capital Region (NCR) - 13,000.00
Outside NCR - 8,500.00
Conditions for ESC Grantee to Maintain their Grant:
· No Maintaining grade is required.
· Grantee promotion to the next grade level assures him/her of the ESC grant.
The grant is terminated if a grantee does any one of the following:
· Drops out for non-health reasons in the middle of the school year;
· Does not reenroll the following school year;
· Fails to be promoted to the next grade level or is retained at the same grade level;
· Is suspended for more than two (2) weeks, dismissed or expelled by the school for disciplinary reasons; or
· Transfers to a non-ESC-participating JHS
For terminated grants due to valid reasons:
· Grantees that drop out due to death of a parent or guardian, calamities, prolonged illness, or accident
- Grant may be reinstated into the ESC program provided they submit documents to support their claim.
Note: All ESC Grantees are automatic recipient of Senior High School voucher from Grade 11 -12.
Note: To those students, who applied for the voucher, please download the QVA Certificate from OVAP. The QVA Certificate is required for voucher redemption. QVAs shall submit their QVA Certificate to the Registrar’s Office as proof that they are entitled to the voucher.
SHS VP is a program of financial assistance wherein subsidies are provided to a qualified Senior High School (SHS) – Grades 11 to 12 learners in participating private or non-DepEd public SHSs.
Objectives:
• Improve and expand access to quality, relevant SHS education
• Provide learners with greater choice in pursuing the SHS
program that caters to their needs and career goals
• Increase the diversity of SHSs and engender a more dynamic
system of SHS education
From Public High School - 22, 500.00
ESC Grantee (from private school) - 18, 000.00
QVR Recipient (non - ESC grantee from private school) - 18, 000.00
Terms of the Senior High School Voucher
• A Voucher Program Beneficiary (VPB) retains the subsidy if the VPB is promoted to the Grade 12 and enrolls in a private or non-DepEd public SHS.
• No maintaining grades are required of VPBs.
• A VPB loses the subsidy if the VPB does any of the following:
– Fails to be promoted to the next grade level
– Drops out in the middle of the school year
– Does not re-enrol the following school year
– Transfers to a different VP-participating SHS within the school
year
– Transfers to a DepEdSHS
** If there is a valid reason for dropping out:
• VPBs who drop out due to prolonged illness, accident, force majeure, or death of a parent or guardian may be reinstated in the SHS VP, provided they submit relevant documents to the PEAC NS.
