History

Inspired by their commitment in educating student and their calling for inspiring and motivating children, three seasoned, respected, and well-experienced teachers decided to put up their own preschool in Polo, Valenzuela which was named Altra Learning Center. Its first school year started in 2003 with thirty six (36) preschool students. It was located at the Altra II Building at Pariancillo Villa, Valenzuela City.

Before the second school year started, Mrs. Jocelyn Anselmo dedicated to continue the noble endeavor. She continued the operation of the school and slowly built up the identity and name of the school, ensuring that quality education is within reach among Valenzuela and Obando, Bulacan residents. In 2006, the school opened its Grade School department due to the clamor of parents for the school to offer primary level. With the opening of the school year 2006-2007, the name of the school was also changed to Nuestra Senora de Guia Academy (NSDGA). From then on, the school continued to grow as its student population grew year by year.

In 2011-2012, its first batch of grade six pupils graduated. It was also the first time that NSDGA offered complete elementary levels from Grade 1 to Grade 6. In addition, NSDGA also opened its Junior High School Department for the school year 2011-2012.

In the school year 2016 – 2017, the Senior High School has been catered to incoming Grade 11 students. NSDGA offers 3 Academic Tracks with the following strands: Accounting, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) and General Academic Strand (GAS).

In the school year 2017-2018, the first graduate of the K-12 Senior High School Curriculum was successfully certified. With the opening of the High School Department, NSDGA indeed provided students a better future as the school commits to offer high standards of education, stricter student policies and better and up-to- date facilities.

The school year 2018-2019 marked one of the most important events as the students showcased their talents and skills in the celebration of the 15th Founding Anniversary. In two consecutive school years (S.Y. 2018 – 2019 , S.Y. 2019- 2020) NSDGA was awarded 1st Place in the Scholastic Readers Cup Award out of 182 competing schools.

In the field of sports, NSDGA was awarded as the MILO Little Olympics Overall Champion Elementary Level in NCR and South Luzon Leg in 2018 and VALPRISAA 6-peat Overall Champion in 2019 which qualify some players to compete for the NCR Meet and Palarong Pambansa. With all these achievements we are truly blessed.

In February 2019 we were re-certified by the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) which makes the school an avenue for the students to continue their private education with the subsidy given by the Fund Assistance for Private Education (FAPE).

In March 11, 2020, nobody predicted, and everyone was in awe that our country will be in Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) because of the COVID – 19 Outbreak. However, the school pursues the commitment of providing the students the best education despite the pandemic. We, at Nuestra Señora De Guia Academy, continue to reshape the education landscape and adapt to the new normal. As part of our commitment in providing the children with affordable education, we reduced our tuition and other fees in the S.Y. 2020-2021 to help our parents in this economic challenge.

In November 21, 2022, a significant milestone was reached when our school successfully completed the e-recertification process by PEAC. This achievement was solidified on June 1, 2023, with the release of results reaffirming our school's certification. This success allows our dedicated students to pursue a quality private education, supported by the Fund Assistance for Private Education (FAPE), extending their opportunities until 2026–2027.

Entering the school year 2023–2024, we proudly celebrate our 20th founding anniversary, a testament to Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy's exceptional education. Alongside this milestone, transformative changes in our infrastructure development reflect our commitment to continuous growth and progress.
