Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy History

Inspired by their commitment to educating students and their calling to inspire and motivate children, three seasoned and respected teachers decided to establish their own Valenzuela preschool, named Altra Learning Center, in Polo, Valenzuela. The school's first year commenced in 2003 with thirty-six (36) preschool students, located at the Altra II Building in Pariancillo Villa, Valenzuela City.

Before the second school year began, Mrs. Jocelyn Anselmo dedicated herself to this noble endeavor, sustaining the school's operations and gradually strengthening its identity and reputation. She ensured that quality education became accessible to residents of Valenzuela and Obando, Bulacan. In 2006, in response to strong parental demand, the school opened its Grade School Department to offer primary education, leading to its renaming as Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy (NSDGA) for the School Year 2006–2007. From that point on, the institution steadily expanded as its student population increased each year.

In School Year 2011–2012, the first batch of Grade Six pupils graduated, marking the milestone of NSDGA offering a complete elementary program from Grade 1 to Grade 6. That same year, the school also inaugurated its Junior High School Department.

In School Year 2016–2017, NSDGA began offering Senior High School to incoming Grade 11 students, providing three Academic Tracks with strands in Accounting, Business and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and the General Academic Strand (GAS).

By School Year 2017–2018, NSDGA celebrated its first graduates under the K–12 Senior High School Curriculum.

In School Year 2022–2023, the newly built campus at Pariancillo Villa was officially opened, marking a transition from online learning back to face-to-face classes. Initially, the campus accommodated students from Preschool to Grade 2.

In School Year 2025–2026, NSDGA was among the selected schools in the country to pilot the Senior High School Strengthened Curriculum, providing incoming Grade 11 students with a more future-ready academic program.

NSDGA remains committed to developing well-rounded individuals who excel not only in academics but also in sports, performing arts, and various other fields. These qualities continue to flourish, reflected in the special recognitions and achievements the school receives both locally and internationally. This journey highlights the rich history of NSDGA as it evolves and grows in its mission to provide excellent education.
